Vanilla Man is owned and managed by Werner (Van) van der Walt and Gisela Richter. Van's 17 years experience as a chef played a great part in our interest in this unique product: The Queen of Spices!

Vanilla Man was started after a visit to Madagascar in 2002. At that time vanilla retailed for R5000 a kg and was very hard to find in South Africa. Since then, awareness and availability has grown and "Vanilla Man, Pure Vanilla" is now a must-have in every kitchen! We are proud to say that Vanilla Man has been instrumental in supplying a more affordable product.

Since our first visit to Madagascar we have travelled to many destinations in search of vanilla, exploring different areas of cultivation.

Vanilla Man imports premium grade Bourbon vanilla beans from Madagascar and Uganda.

Halaal certified

All our products (excluding Vanilla Syrup due to cream of Tartar) has been Halaal certified by the South African National Halaal Authority.
